District health authorities' investigation team conducted a surprise raid against fake Dr SK Sharma who has been illegally practising in Malka Chowk inside Balmiki Gate Jalandhar for the last 20 years. A 3-member committee of Investigation team was formed by Dr Jagdeep Chawla Civil Surgeon Jalandhar headed by the Zonal Licensing Authority. Sanjay Sehgal Social & Transparency Activist told the media that a Complaint was filed on 27th March 24 with the Principal Secretary Health & Family Welfare Punjab.
It was very surprising that it is the duty of Drug Inspectors and other field staff who are getting high salaries from the Government
to keep a check on such illegal activities.
Dr Baljit Kumar Medical Officer, Drug Inspector along with staff members & police officials seized medicines & other types of equipment from the clinic. We are getting inputs that in the city number of fake Dr are playing with the lives of innocent people.
Sanjay Sehgal Transparency Activist shared that we will survey the city against fake Practitioners and demand a list of such practitioners from the Civil Surgeon Office under the RTI Act. Civil surgeons should direct all officials and field staff to keep their eyes open for any kind of misconduct.
