Fake Eggs sold in Ludhiana cause a stir; Health department compelled to take action

In some shocking news today, there has been a stir after fake eggs were found in Machhiwada town of the Ludhiana district of Punjab. This discovery has caused quite a stir among the general public. After the video of eggs surfaced, the health department was also forced to take action. When the matter reached SMO Machhiwada, he sent a complaint in this regard to the Civil Surgeon office. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the medical officers have instructed the DHO to investigate.

 

Bawa Verma of Machhiwada informs that he brought a tray of eggs from a shop in the area. When he started breaking the eggs at home, water started coming out of it. There was no thickness to the contents of the egg at all. Bawa said that if an egg is broken, there is a strong odour to signify the eggs quality. There was no smell of any kind after breaking these eggs.

 

Bawa said that when he boiled an egg, while peeling it, it felt as if he was removing a plastic cover. Bawa said that when the egg was broken, the yolk (yellow substance) inside was found frozen. They suspect that this egg is made of mechanical or synthetic Chinese. Only one egg in the entire tray was found to be genuine and all the other eggs were found to be fake.

 

There was a smell of burning plastic when the egg was set on fire as a test. Bawa said that when he broke the egg and tried burning it, there was a smell like burning plastic coming from inside it. When the eggs were burnt, it felt as if plastic and wax were mixed and burnt. Bawa said that when his wife boiled the eggs, it took her about 5 minutes to peel one egg. When the shellof the egg proved this difficult to come off, his wife suspected the egg of being fake.

 

Bawa has appealed to the Health Department to take immediate action and investigate the matter so that those making these fake eggs can be busted. Baba said that people's health is at danger. He also appealed to the people to check the eggs that they buy before paying for them.

Civil Surgeon Aulakh said that wherever fake eggs are found to be sold in the city, people should immediately inform the health department.
