Farmer died at Delhi, Australia returnee, cremated in Rampur village

Manseet Kaur (21), is Navreet's wife who is still in Australia and couldn't attend his last rites owing to suspension of flights due to Covid-19.

Navreet Singh, 27, who died at the protest site during the unrest in Delhi on January 26 was cremated in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.

As per reports published in various newspapers, many officials were present during his cremation.

Station House Officer (SHO) of Bilaspur, Brijesh Yadav said, "Post-mortem of the body was conducted in Rampur today and its report stated that there were five injuries on the body. The report stated cause of death occurred due to head injury.” He was quoted by The Indian express saying there was no law and order problem during his cremation.

Manseet Kaur (21) is Navreet's wife who is still in Australia and couldn't attend his last rites owing to suspension of flights due to Covid-19. Reportedly, Singh had also returned recently from Australia.

According to his family members, Navreet had been to Australia for further studies after completing his schooling in India. He returned over a year ago. As per reports, Navreet's family had no idea of his participation in the demonstration because he had told them that he was going to Uttarakhand.
