It is said that creativity always fetches attention, a similar incident can be seen in Jaipur. Farmers of Jaipur on Monday protested against the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) to demand compensation under the amended Land Acquisition Act. However, the protest was unique, as the farmers staged 'Zameen samadhi satyagraha' (half-bury their bodies in the ground) to protest against provisions of acquisition of their land by Jaipur Development Authority (JDA), in Nindar village of Jaipur.

As per reports, in order to reduce the growing population of the city, in 2010, the JDA started the process of acquiring farmers' land for setting up a residential colony in Nodar village. In 2013, the land was allotted. This colony is proposed on 1300 bigha land.

Then the protest of farmers started.  In the year 2017, the Nodar Bachao Committee filed a petition in the High Court demanding the cancellation of the acquisition and started the agitation.

However, the High Court upheld the process of land acquisition. Again the farmers pleaded in the Supreme Court, there too the decision went in favour of JDA. On October 2, 2017, the farmers took the tomb for the first time in protest against the takeover. This movement lasted for 44 days. The then Vasundhara government had agreed to a mutual agreement.
