Farmer's Protest Toolkit: Govt seeks data from Google, Social Networking sites

The Cyber cell unit of Delhi police have registered an FIR against alleged "Pro-Khalistan" entities who are claimed to have prepared a toolkit for intensifying the protests of farmers.

Farmers protesting around Delhi have garnered support from international lawmakers, human rights organizations, activists and public figures among others. Ever since, Greta Thunberg, a Swedish Climate Activist has extended support to the farmers and tweeted a 'tookit' for allegedly helping the farmers, the situation has intensified on social networking sites.

The Cyber cell unit of Delhi police have registered an FIR against alleged "Pro-Khalistan" entities who are claimed to have prepared a toolkit for intensifying the protests of farmers. The FIR mentions waging a "social, cultural and economic war against the Government of India".

Anyesh Roy, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Cyber Cell) has said that a letter has been sent to Google and other entities for procuring information about the creators of this toolkit. The police have sought details about the email ids, URLs and Social Networking accounts mentioned in the toolkit.

Roy said there seems to be an "element of conspiracy."

Case has been registered under the charges of sedition and criminal conspiracy among others.
