Farmers Protest Traffic Advisory: Diverted route to Delhi from Noida, Haryana & Chandigarh

Given the traffic congestion, Delhi Police released an advisory outlining the routes to avoid if you are travelling to the National Capital from Haryana and Noida borders.

Farmers' march to Delhi entered Day 3 on Thursday and the National Capital including its nearby areas witnessed heavy traffic congestion. Commuters faced delays and traffic jams entering Delhi due to farmers' protestors. A visual from GT Karnal Road was shared on X by a newswire. Heavy traffic were witnessed at the Delhi-Noida Chilla border. Also, heavy traffic was witnessed on the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway due to multiple barricades by the Police given farmers' 'Delhi Chalo' march. Farmers Protest diverted routes to Delhi from Noida & Haryana

 

-Vehicles going to Delhi via Chilla Border can take 14A flyover to reach Golchakkar Chowk Sector 15, then proceed to Sandip Paper Mill Chowk, Jhundpura Chowk and then travel further to their destination.

-Vehicles going to Delhi via DND Border are advised to take Filmcity flyover to reach sector 18 and then proceed further to their destination.

-Vehicles travelling to Delhi via Kalindi Border are advised to take Mahamaya flyover to reach sector 37 and proceed further from there.

-Vehicles going to Delhi via Yamuna expressway are advised to go towards Khurja from Jewar toll and from there proceed further through Jahangirpur.

-Vehicles travelling to Delhi via Peripheral expressway to Sirsa, Parichowk can instead take the route towards Dadri, Dasna to reach their destination.

-Emergency vehicles will be allowed to go towards secure destinations amid the traffic diversions

 

It is pertinent to mention here that on Wednesday, the Delhi Police issued an advisory and stated that the National Highway-44 was closed for general traffic beyond Singhu Border, which is between Delhi and Haryana.

The Delhi Traffic Police in its statement said, "Vehicular traffic of Singhu Border and adjacent border intending to go towards NH-44 may exit from following border via Eastern Peripheral Expressway: - Vehicular traffic going to Haryana on NH-44 and reached Apsara Border Maharajpur Border may use divert to Dabur Chowk Mohan Nagar- Ghaziabad - Hapur Road - GT Road - Delhi Meerut Expressway (25 KM) - Dasna- take left turn to Eastern Peripheral Expressway (44 KM) - Rai Cut and reach NH- 44 Total 69 KM."

Haryana Traffic Police on February 12 , 2024 had announced diverted routes from Chandigarh to Delhi due to farmers protest. "Chd to Delhi... 1. Chandigarh to Delhi via- 


Panchkula- Barwala- Saha- Barara- Babain- Ladwa- Pipli- Kurukshetra 

2. Chandigarh to Delhi via- Panchkula- Barwala- Yamunanagar- Ladwa- Indri- Karnal ..The same routes can be used for travelling from Delhi to Chd."
