Two men were murdered and two others were critically injured in a shootout between two groups over a land dispute in Bareke village near Ferozepur, according to news reports.
Bakshish Singh and Kabul Singh, two real brothers, were slain in a shooting near the disputed property around 5 am, today, while two others were gravely injured and were admitted to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital in Faridkot. Both of the deceased's remains were taken into custody and an autopsy has been held at the Civil Hospital Ferozepur Mortuary.
The police raced to the scene as soon as the incident was reported and the investigation of the matter is still going on.
This episode has again revealed Ferozepur's deteriorating law and order situation.
