For the first time ever, Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee will be sending personalised New Year's greetings cards to all students of all State-aided schools of Bengal.

She herself has prepared the message to be printed on the greetings cards which is being called a great gesture from the CM.

Nearly 15 million students study in State-aided schools.

The School Education Department will be handling the logistics to ensure that the cards reach all the students in State-aided primary, secondary and higher secondary schools.

The cards will be first reaching the district magistrate's office, from where they will be sent to different schools.

The headmasters of schools will be held responsible of writing the names of the students on the cards and handing them over to the students.

It should be mentioned here that every year the chief minister holds a programme to felicitate the toppers of different board in the State.

Not only that, and this is a first for a chief minister of the State, she also listens to the students' problems, if any, and accordingly instructs the administration to take steps so that they face no difficulty in continuing with their higher studies.
