FIR registered against Ludhiana Policeman accused of raping a girl for 3 years

According to the victim the accused policeman kept her in a live-in relationship while he was married to someone else

A case has been registered against a policeman in Ludhiana accused of raping a woman for 3 years. The policeman, identified as Constable Jaspreet Singh, reportedly befriended the woman on Snapchat. He took her into confidence and kept her in a living relationship with him for three years. The matter came to light when the girl came to know that the policeman was married. When he took the girl to his home, her relatives told him that the accused is already married and that his divorce is in process.

 

The victim informs that she met the accused, Constable Jaspreet Singh, resident of Kapila Colony, Chandigarh Road, Samrala, for the first time on Snapchat. Then he started talking to her over the app. Some time later numbers were exchanged and he kept pressuring her to meet him. According to the victim, the policeman took her into confidence and had been raping her for 3 years. He reportedly kept her in a live-in relationship. After it came to light that the accused was married, the victim resisted following which she was beaten by the accused and his mother. She also revealed that the accused had also assaulted her on the Katani Bridge.

 

The victim claimed that she had previously caught the accused policeman Jaspreet naked with girls in the hotels of Chandigarh multiple times. She informed that the accused had promised to marry her but has since refused.

 

The victim claims that the accused constable’s family has been threatening her ever since the FIR has been registered. She claimed that Jaspreet's mother was calling her and threatening to kill her. She has spoken to ACP Sumit Sood regarding this. According to the victim, the accused Jaspreet is posted in the ARP team of Jalandhar. Currently, the police of Daresi police station has registered a case against the accused police personnel under section 376 of IPC.
