Fire at TRP gaming zone in Rajkot kills 22 including several children; Owner Yuvraj Solanki arrested

In a tragic development, at least 22 people including children due to the massive fire that broke out at TRP Gaming zone in Rajkot, Gujarat. TRP Gaming Zone fire was so intense that multiple fire brigades and rescue were sent to the spot. While the TRP Gaming Zone fire incident took place in the afternoon, rescue operation is still underway and more bodies are expected to come out. Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel had instructed officials to prioritize arrangements for immediate treatment of the injured. Gujarat CM on his X handle wrote, "Instructions have been given to the Municipal Corporation and the administration for immediate rescue and relief operations in the fire incident in the game zone in Rajkot. It has also instructed to prioritize arrangements for immediate treatment of the injured."

What happened at TRP Gaming Zone?

At the time of the fire, at least 60 people were stuck inside. While many people have been rescued in the TRP Gaming Zone fire incident, the rescue team is still trying to find people who may be stuck inside. Notably, the TRP Mall Gaming Zone cause of fire is a matter of investigation now. 

As last reported, Raju Bhargava, Police Commissioner, Rajkot, was quoted by a newswire, "Fire broke out in the TRP gaming zone in the afternoon. The rescue operations are on. The fire is under control. We are trying to retrieve as many bodies as possible. As of now, around 20 bodies have been recovered and they have been sent to the hospital for further investigation. Investigations will be carried out. The gaming zone is owned by a person called Yuvraj Singh Solanki. We will be registering an offence for negligence and the deaths which have occurred. The further investigation will take place once we complete the rescue operations here."

Fire Station Officer RA Joban was quoted saying, " We cannot say anything about the exact number... We are bringing down bodies from both sides... The search operation is underway..."

As per a newswire, following the accident, all game zones in Rajkot have been ordered to close pending investigation. The game zone owner has been arrested.
