In a major development, Firozpur DC Rajesh Dhiman's wife Jasmin Kaur has been booked for allegedly committing forgery and taking a compensation of Rs 1.17 core from the government as compensation for land that the GAMADA acquired. As per reports, during their posting in Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GAMADA), many officers of Punjab took the compensation in the name of their wives and the DC of Firozpur was allegedly one of them. Furthermore, 2 acres of land (garden) were shown under the name of Jasmin in Bakarpur. From 2016 to 2020, GAMADA officials of gardening and revenue hand in hand-committed forgery and based on that took multi-core compensation from the government. GAMADa authorities had the information of which land to acquire and when to acquire it.
As a result, the land was bought in advance under the wife's name, and trees of Guava were sown in order to show in the record. Notably, the tree of Guava grows the fastest and therefore it was expected that compensation of the next 20 years will be given. As per the FIR registered, Firozpur DC Rajesh Dhiman's wife Jasmin took a compensation of Rs 1.17 crore. Apart from Jasmin, people like CA, Property Dealers, and even officials of GAMADA are involved in taking compensation-based land acquired through forgery. Notably, Rajesh Dhiman was posted at the high post in GAMADA when the alleged fraud was taking place.

Now, the Vigilance Bureau has come into action and has formed 6 teams in order to nab the accused in the GAMADA land forgery case. Notably, on Friday, the team of Vigilance Bureau conducted multiple raids in Chandigarh, Bhatinda, Mohali, Hoshiarpur, and more. As per Vigilance sources, 7 people have been arrested in the case and two teams of the anti-corruption unit have also conducted a raid at the houses of GAMADA officials of gardening and revenue. Notably, there are more officials from the Police and civil who are under the radar of the Vigilance Bureau. Till now, only Firozpur DC's wife's name has emerged but with the investigation, higher officials' names are expected to emerge.
