First sandalwood museum in Mysuru

As per reports, the inauguration of the museum will happen after November 25.

Mysuru has not just given us tasty Mysore Pak and Yoga for good health but it is also famous for a large variety of sandalwood products the city makes. All these have made the city popular in the world. 

Mysuru is already well-known for its sandalwood products such as oils, soaps, incense sticks, artefacts etc.

Karnataka Chief Minister, Yediyurappa will soon inaugurate India’s first Sandalwood Museum in Mysuru. This is happy news for the patrons of sandalwood products and its smell. The concept behind establishing a sandalwood museum is to spread awareness and knowledge about the history and cultivation of sandalwood products alongside observing their remarkable varieties in the display.

As per reports, the inauguration of the museum will happen after November 25 and also that the state is planning to shift the museum to the luxurious Mysuru Palace. 

The Mysuru Forest division has built the sandalwood museum on its premises. Through the museum, visitors can understand various things about sandalwood like sandalwood classification, farming techniques and types of sandalwood. People will also be able to see posters with information about sandalwood growth and how they can help prevent diseases.

The sandalwood museum is fully furnished with an auditorium, projector and seating arrangement for visitors through which they will be able to learn about sandalwood cultivation. Reportedly, audio information related to sandalwood shall also be given to the tourists.

Once this museum is launched, tourists in Mysuru will have one more point of interest to add in their journey.
