Entire flights across the United States have been grounded after a technical glitch was reported in the Aviation department’s system maintaining the flight’s flawless movement.

The Federal Aviation Administration said it is 'experiencing an outage that is impacting the update of Notice to Air Missions (NOTAMs)' and that 'all flights are unable to be released at this time'.

Earlier today the FAA on its website informed that the FAA system that alerts pilots and other flight personnel about hazards or any changes to airport facility services and relevant procedures was not processing updated information.

"We are following reports of a problem with the NOTAM system that might affect flights in the US." Tweeted Flightradar24 with a map showing the traffic route of the flights.

More than over 400 flights were delayed within, into, or out of the US as of Wednesday at 5.31 AM ET or 4:01 PM IST, the flight tracking website FlightAware showed. It was not immediately clear so as to what led to the outage in the system.

Los Angeles International Airport, which is referred to as LAX, said the FAA is working closely to resolve the issue, adding that the passengers are advised to keep sharp attention over the flight status.

Passengers on social media reported flight delays and outages across the United States, from Hawaii to Washington. Airports from Texas to Pennsylvania confirmed flights were impacted across the country.

Aviation expert Parvez Damania while interacting with the media marked it a "shocking and unheard-of situation". "I don't recall the last time when the entire airspace of the country was closed. Maybe during 9/11. This is going to cause unbelievable disruption.”

“The FAA is working to resolve a national systems issue that is impacting flights early this morning. Please check your flight status and we will share updates as the FAA provides them,” Los Angeles airport tweeted.
