Rachit Aggarwal, a resident of Jalandhar, Punjab secured All India Rank (AIR) of 25 JEE Main 2024. Rachit is among the top 100 NTA scorers in JEE Main, according to the results declared late on Wednesday night.  Rachit said that he was completely focused on clearing the exam. He had deleted his Instagram and Snapchat accounts. Rachit said he had no plans to pursue engineering and didn't "study much" until Class 10.

Got inspired by ‘Dragon Ball Z’:

He also got inspiration from the Japanese animated series "Dragon Ball Z" and its hero Goku, who "saves the earth from evil again." Rachit's elder brother Saksham Aggarwal is pursuing computer engineering from BITS Pilani.

Rachit said that inspiration has to be found in small things. These things can be anything. He said he watched a lot of "Dragon Ball Z" until the 10th grade. He was never a student who read books 24 hours a day. Aggarwal said he also likes creative writing, enjoys poetry and knows how to play the guitar. He is also fond of the Harry Potter series.

Found inspiration from his elder brother:

Rachit said that his approach towards education till class 10 was that he did not want to go for non-medical in classes 11 and 12 but his brother inspired him. Agarwal, who took coaching from Aakash Institute, says, “I was never a studious person. Father Neeraj Aggarwal runs a business of tiles and sanitary ware while mother Ritu Aggarwal gives home tuition.

In a message to those who want to go to IIT but are afraid of mathematics and physics, he said that students often hear words like mathematics and physics and develop a deep fear in their hearts but to be honest, in reality no one knows these subjects before delving into them. He said that once that sentiment of “Yes, I can do it and I have to do it” settles in, everything starts to make sense.

Support from family:

Rachit said that his family is a joint family. Living with his grandparents helped him a lot. Whenever he felt down, someone from the family was always there to encourage him. Rachit said that whenever he was studying, his family members would automatically switch off the television. After preparing for JEE Advanced, he now wants to do Computer Science Engineering from IIT Bombay.

Rachit said that he realized that he was losing his self-control by using social media. So he removed his Instagram, Snapchat accounts and started studying 10-12 hours daily. Aggarwal says that he was never a 100 or 99 percent scorer or topper in class 10th. He had scored 94 percent marks in class 10th which is very common these days.
