Amritsar, Punjab - Late last night, the police control room received a distressing tip regarding the presence of four potential bombs near the revered Golden Temple. Responding swiftly to the alarming information, law enforcement authorities raised a high alert and launched an extensive search operation that lasted throughout the night. Although the search yielded no explosive devices, the police apprehended an individual, suspecting his involvement in the incident.

The incident unfolded under the cover of darkness, triggering heightened security measures around the iconic Golden Temple. Law enforcement officers scoured the area diligently, employing their expertise to locate any imminent threats. While no immediate evidence of explosives emerged, investigators turned their attention to the stolen mobile phone used to convey the false threat.

Utilizing the information extracted from the control room, the police traced the owner of the stolen phone, leading them to the detention of a person. The suspects were found to possess stolen mobile phones, believed to have been used to orchestrate the mischievous act while evading detection.

The police have detained the individual for further questioning, vowing to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. Yesterday around 1 o’clock, a phone call was received in the control room of the Dera. It was reported that four bombs had been planted on the bank side of the Akal Takht Sahib. In response to this, a press conference was held by DCPP Parminder Singh Bhandal, stating that a search operation was initiated by their police teams around the premises of Darbar Sahib. During the search operation, no evidence was found. The rumor of the phone call was spread by someone, but the person who received the call immediately turned off their phone. The police officer mentioned that this morning they were able to trace the individual who made the call, and they successfully apprehended him.

DCPP Parminder Singh Bhandal stated that the person involved in this incident is approximately 20 years old and had made the call from their stolen phone, which was found in possession of the thief at the Golden Temple. A photo of the turban-wearing suspect was found on the phone. The police officer mentioned that they had already put the police teams on alert due to recent incidents at gurdwaras. They emphasized that earlier such incidents had occurred, and now the individuals are even cutting their hair to disguise themselves.

The police officer mentioned that the accused would be presented in court for remand to gather further information. A meeting with Nihang Sikh organizations will also be held to address the issue of individuals tarnishing the reputation of Nihang Singhs.
