Foreign currency worth Rs  3.55 Crore caught at Amritsar & Jaipur airport in briefcase' secret layer; Watch

Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Friday foiled a smuggling attempt of foreign currency including the US Dollar and Euro worth Rs 3.55 crore. The foreign currencies were being smuggled to Dubai from Jaipur and Amritsar Airport. Acting on specific intelligence, the DRI seized Foreign Currency (USD & Euros) and arrested 4 persons including the mastermind. 

 

As per the video shared by DRI, the high cash money was hidden in a secret layer of a briefcase. Now, the Amritsar airport foreign currency smuggling video is going viral on social media. In the video, it can be seen that officials of DRI unlocked the secret layer of the briefcase and recovered a huge amount of US Dollars and euros. 

 

As per reports,  DRI officials had received information about foreign currency being sent to Dubai. There was information that this money was being sent out through Amritsar and Jaipur airports. On this, DRI immediately came into action and raided Jaipur and Amritsar airports. During this time, three accused were immediately arrested along with three briefcases. After interrogating these accused, the mastermind of the gang has also been taken into custody.
