On Saturday, Babul Supriyo, a former Union Minister in the Environment Ministry joined Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress (TMC), in presence of the party's Rajya Sabha MP Derek O Brien and TMC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee. He took this step a month after he bided ‘Alvida’ to politics.

Supriyo is the fifth BJP leader to join Trinamool Congress after Banerjee's party won the assembly election in May and retained power.

We take this opportunity to extend a very warm welcome to him!”

While saying bye to politics and BJP he said, “Alvida I am not going to any other party - TMC, Congress, CPIM, nowhere. I am confirming that nobody has called. I am going nowhere.
