Former Deputy CM Punjab under Vigilance Bureau’s scanner, summoned on Saturday by officials

Om Prakash Soni was also associated with the sanitizer scam in month of July. He was accused of buying sanitizer at thrice the cost during the pandemic while he was health minister.

Post various former ministers and high-profile officials, Vigilance Bureau is now all set to take stand against former Deputy CM Punjab Om Prakash Soni. As per information, a notice from Vigilance Bureau was served to former Deputy CM and has been asked to appear at SSP VB office at Kachari Chowk on Saturday. This information was further confirmed by the officials.

Officials while giving insight into probe revealed that Om Prakash Soni is called on Saturday under a case but information about why he has been called will be given only after questioning. Soon after the notice was served, question whether he will appear as per summon or not also raised.

Reportedly, the notice given to former Deputy CM, Vigilance Bureau has asked Om Prakash Soni to present all income-related information and details. Sources reveal that income from 2017 to 2022 can be examined during this period. Also, properties and income related details of his close associates are also being checked. As per information, it was only after approval of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann that notice was sent to him.
