Former Miss Ukraine refutes report of joining army; issues clarification on her viral photo with gun

Former Miss Ukraine Anastasiia Lenna on Tuesday took to her Instagram and shared a video showing Ukrainian forces resisting Russian troops and issued a clarification on reports of her joining the army.

Amidst the escalating tensions in the ongoing war, the world is appreciating the unity among the people of Ukraine to fight the Russian transgression. What has even more impressed people on social media is from celebrities to common civilians all have taken up arms against the Russian forces to protect Ukraine. After Russia launched a full-fledged invasion, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had called upon anyone who can hold a gun to come and fight for their country. Amid all this, former Miss Ukraine Anastasiia Lenna's photo in Ukrainian soldier attire with arms in her hands went viral on social media. 

Following that, it was reported that former Miss Ukraine Anastasiia Lenna has taken up arms to protect her country against the Russian transgression. Daily Mail reported that Anastasiia Lenna had announced that she had joined the country's resistance against Russian troops. Now, the former Miss Ukraine has taken a U-turn on the report of her joining the Ukrainian army.

In a long note, Lenna stated that she is not a military just a human. And due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, she is breaking her silence. Furthermore, Lenna clearly stated that just like all the normal civilians of her country is also normal and not in the military. Furthermore, she clarified that all her pictures were to inspire people against the Russian transgression.

Lenna won Miss Ukraine in 2015. Lenna, who usually works as a public relations manager in Turkey, posted the image alongside two hashtags - stand with Ukraine and hands-off Ukraine.
