From spike in LPG rate to change in trains’ timing, know 5 big changes coming into effect from Nov 1

These all changes would come into effect from November 1, just a day before the country would celebrate the festival of Deepavali.

From November 1 (Monday), some big changes would come into effect, which would directly or indirectly affect the common man’s pocket. These changes would come into effect, just a day before the country would celebrate the festival of Diwali.

RISE IN LPG PRICES: As per the reports by media agencies, the rate of cylinders of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), used for cooking purposes, would witness a rise in the month of November. As per the information received, under-recovery on the fuel the price may widen to over Rs 100 per cylinder. At present, the rate of an LPG cylinder is Rs 899.50 per cylinder.

CHANGE IN TIMING AND SPECIAL TRAINS FOR FESTIVE SEASON: Indian Railways would change the timetable of the trains from November 1 as the railway organisation is planning to start special trains during the time of festivals – Diwali, Chath etc. 

Apart from this, Southern Indian Railways on October 25 tweeted that the trains would run according to the non-monsoon timetable. The information was shared on Twitter, the tweet read, “On and from 1st November 2021, the Non-Monsoon timetable will be effective!

All Passengers are requested to please check the Railway Websites (NTES) and/or (IRCTC) for the timings before boarding their respective Trains #srupdates #SouthernRailway”.



WHATSAPP WOULD END ITS SUPPORT FOR SOME iOS AND ANDROID: WhatsApp will no longer support a wide range of Android devices as of Monday, November 1. Users' chats will be lost if they have not yet been backed up and exported as a result of the change. Users must switch to a suitable device to continue accessing WhatsApp's instant messaging service.

GOOD NEWS FOR PENSIONERS: From November 1, the State Bank of India (SBI) has started a facility for pensioners, who have pension account in the same bank. Under it, the pensioners won't have to visit a bank branch to submit a lifer certificate. The facility will allow the pensioners to do so via a video call. 


BANKS WOULD REVISE CHARGES ON DEPOSITS AND WITHDRAWAL: From the starting of the month of November, the Bank of Baroda (BOB) would revise its charges for deposit and withdrawal of money beyond its new prescribed limit. The new charges would apply to savings as well as salaried account holders. Reportedly, some other banks, including, Central Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Bank of India, would take a similar decision in the upcoming months.
