In an end of a golden chapter, the World's second-oldest woman Fusa Tatsumi passed away at the age of 116. As per reports, Fusa Tatsumi's death took place on Tuesday. Fusa Tatsumi who hailed from Japan had recently spent most of her days in bed at a nursing home in Kashiwara. Fusa married a farmer who grew peaches and grapes at the age of 32 and she worked as a farmer for 25 years. While her time at the nursing home, Fusa reportedly, greeted the employees working there, and it has been learned that she was well until Monday morning, eating her favourite bean-paste jelly. What happened to Fusa Tatsumi?

 

As per reports, Fusa Tatsumi suffered no prior health problems. The 116-year-old woman died due to old age. Fusa was also the oldest woman in Japan. From an early age, she enjoyed gardening and practised the art of Japanese tea ceremony and flower arrangement after she graduated from elementary school.

 

Fusa's eldest son Kanji was quoted saying that her mother's longevity may have been connected to her hobby i.e. Fusa loved growing chrysanthemums at home. The 116-year-old woman's love for gardening continued until she entered a nursing home at the age of 106. As per US media reports, she became only the 27th person in history to reach the age of 116 and was only the seventh Japanese person to do so. Fusa's husband died when she was only 55 years old.

 

As of January this year, the world's oldest living woman is Maria Branyas Morera in Spain, who is now 116 years old.
