Fans on social media were left in utter shock after Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara who rose to prominence worldwide due to his multi-lingual movie My Fault on Prime Video was arrested at Venice Film Festival in France. Yes! you heard it right. Gabriel Guevara's arrest came on the same day when he was supposed to receive an award in France. Gabriel Guevara was apprehended by Italian authorities and was taken downtown. Notably, Gabriel Guevara plays the lead character of Nick who is the step-brother of Noah played by actress Nicole Wallace. Gabriel Guevara's arrest reason
As per reports, My Fault star was arrested by Italian authorities over an alleged sexual assault in France. Gabriel Guevara was set to receive a best young actor honour given out by Filming Italy, however, it ended with him being in jail. Reports suggested that Gabriel had an active international warrant out on him. As of now, Guevara is in protected custody with Italian State Police. The court of appeals will rule on his case before the extradition proceeding can begin. A separate report stated that while the Spanish actor awaits for the court's verdict, Filming Italy has kept his award in pending subject to the verdict of the court.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Venice Film Festival has sidelined itself from the controversy by issuing a statement. "Following the news articles which have been emerging on various websites, regarding the Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara being arrested in Venice, the Biennale hereby clarifies that his presence in Venice was not linked to any events or productions related to the 80th Venice International Film Festival," it said.
For the unversed, Gabriel Guevara, 22, first rose to fame in Europe in 2018 when he portrayed the character of Cristian Miralles Haro in the first season of Skam Spain. However, it was My Fault on Amazon Prime Video that skyrocketed his fan following worldwide. For those who haven't watched My Fault, Gabrial played the character of Nick who fell in love with his step-sister amid drama which contained racing, kidnapping and even organized crime.
