A woman's journey from London to Chicago turned bizarre and uncomfortable when a passenger beside her started performing an X-rated act inside the blanket mid-air. A woman named Genevieve Pascolla was traveling to Chicago from London in United Airlines filmed the passenger committing a sexual act beside her inside his blanket and following that she complained about it to the cabin crew. However, Genevieve Pascolla was left in utter shock when the cabin crews started to joke about the incident rather than lodging a complaint or warning the passenger to not commit the act. Genevieve Pascolla was quoted saying that the man was allowed to complete his act and the passengers were left in an uncomfortable and embarrassing situation. In the end, Genevieve Pascolla requested the cabin crew that she wanted to change her seat, and therefore cabin crew shifted her to another seat. Genevieve Pascolla was quoted by a UK media portal saying, "They gave us new seats. They then started making jokes about the situation asking 'what perfume are you wearing' and excusing him saying 'he’s had a bit of wine'."
"No one stopped him. He was allowed to finish, with a child sitting closely by," said Genevieve Pascolla.
It is pertinent to mention here that the incident took place in 2018 and recently Genevieve Pascolla posted a picture of a response to her complaint by the airline. As per the woman, upon her arrival, she was asked by airport security if she wanted an apology from the passenger, a request she rejected. The response of the airline said, "Again, I apologise for the uncomfortable situation you experienced. I appreciate that you chose United for your travel. We hope your next trip with us will be a more positive experience."
On the airline's response, Genevieve stated that she was shocked to see the casual approach of United Airlines against the preparatory. "I am appalled at the lack of action taken in this situation in which as a woman, I was terrified. This man is clearly capable of much more.. Referring to being assaulted on one of your flight as a 'uncomfortable experience' is a bit of an understatement. Your lack of action is disgusting #metoo."
It is pertinent to mention here that a United Airlines spokesperson was quoted by a portal saying that Genevieve received compensation over the unfortunate incident and on the flight she was also shifted to another seat. Tpo be precise, Genevieve received compensation from the airline in the form of half her fare refunded in flight vouchers. The spokesperson was quoted saying, "...in this case, our customers were promptly moved to different seats in a different section of the plane and law enforcement officials were summoned in advance to meet the perpetrator when the plane pulled into the gate."
