
Indians are longer content with delayed launches, be itmovies, or mobiles, or technology. Helping India compete in the global race ofthe next generation of wireless data transmission technology is Airtel which hasextended its partnership with its old technology provider Ericsson.
Ericsson was the first telecom equipment provider to startmanufacturing in India in 1994. Airtel and Ericsson's long-standing technologyand services partnership has spanned 2G, 3G, 4G provision and more recently,live 5G trials.
Today, the company manufactures 4G and 5G radios as well asmicrowave products at its Pune production facility. This facility is part ofEricsson’s global production network with presence on six continents, allowingEricsson to secure fast and agile deliveries to meet customer requirements.
The ‘make in India' 5G-ready Ericsson radio system productswill enhance the network experience of Airtel customers, the companies said ina statement.
"We are delighted to deepen our partnership withEricsson as part of our endeavor to build a network ready for 5G andbeyond," said Randeep Sekhon, CTO, Bharti Airtel.
In July this year, Bharti Airtel renewed another agreementwith the Swedish gear maker to provide pan-India managed network operations.The three-year deal will see Airtel launching 'Ericsson Operation Engine' thisyear.
The upcoming 5G services will prove helpful not only to anIndia which has learned to ‘work-at-home’, but also to video gamers as latencyor lag destroys their gaming experience.
