FIR against Badshah

As per the information received, the Global Christian Action Committee has filed a police complaint, following which an FIR has been registered against Badshah at the Qila Lal Singh police station in Batala for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.

According to Jatinder Masih, the National President of the Global Christian Action Committee, the lyrics of Velvet Flow include inappropriate references to the Bible and the Church. He claimed that the song has deeply offended the sentiments of the Christian community.

Not only this, but the Christian community also protested earlier this week, demanding action against the rapper and ultimately his arrest.  Authorities had initially assured the Christian community leaders that action would be taken, which led to the formal registration of the FIR.

“The community is demanding the immediate arrest of rapper Badshah,” added Jatinder Masih, adding that this is not the first time religious references have been used inappropriately in the entertainment industry. “Such repeated offenses cannot be tolerated, regardless of the religion involved,” he added.

39-year-old Indian rapper and singer, Badshah, rose to fame with his debut song, DJ Waley Babu, in 2018. It topped the Indian iTunes charts within 24 hours. He then made his acting debut in 2019 with the comedy-drama Khandani Shafakhana, alongside Varun Sharma and more.
