Nowadays, artificial intelligence has taken over almost every field, from content generation to deep research to coding; AI has been assisting people everywhere. But recently, ChatGPT, the AI platform owned by OpenAI, was down for several users across the globe, which resulted in slow to no work based on the AI tool.
The problem was addressed by the company, which highlighted that the server went down due to elevated error rates and latency, which have been experienced by users on various AI platforms. The officials have further mentioned, “We are investigating” the issues currently being faced by the world.
According to the reports, it is not just ChatGPT that is causing the issue; similar problems were reported on AI tools, including application programming interfaces and Sora. As per OpenAI, the issue has been prevailing for the last two hours, i.e., the AI tool has not been working since 2:30 pm IST, and approximately 800 complaints have been lodged from India alone.
Out of the total, around 88% of the people mentioned that the chatbot is not responding to the queries, whereas 8% of the users mentioned that there is an issue with the mobile application, and the remaining 3% mentioned that there were API-related problems.
Along with this, Downdetector has also outlined that several issues were reported by the users in the last couple of hours. Reportedly, the outage monitoring website noted that in India, it has reported complaints from more than 466 users from 2:37 pm.
It is to be noted that it is not the first time that users have faced a decline in usage - a similar outage was faced in early April, during the time when people were generating the Ghibli images, the feature that took the internet by storm.
