Goods train runs uncontrollably at 100 km/hr sans Loco Pilot in Pathankot; Watch Video

As per the information received, the goods train (Maal Gadi) from Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir suddenly started without a loco pilot.

A major mishap was averted on Sunday when a good train in Pathankot shockingly ran at 100 km/hr without any loco pilot or driver. As per the information received, the goods train (Maal Gadi) from Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir suddenly started without a loco pilot. The goods train continued running like this for about 70 to 80 kilometers. Railway officials stopped the goods train near Dahusa in Hoshiarpur after a lot of effort. Now, goods train running without loco pilot video is going viral as well. 

 

In the viral video, the goods train can be seen running speedily without any loco pilot controlling it. As per the information received, the incident took place in Damtal. After the railways got the information that the goods train was running without any loco pilot, a major panic broke out. As a result, an announcement was made by the railway administration to stop the train, and the tracks were evacuated. After a lot of effort, the train has been stopped at Uchi Bassi. During this time, it was fortunate that a major accident was averted. Notably, how the train started to run without a loco pilot has not been revealed yet. 

 

What went wrong with the Goods Train?

 

Goods train (14806R) from Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir reached Punjab without a driver/guard. The goods train continued running like this for about 78 kilometers. It was stopped by installing wooden stoppers at Uchi Bassi railway station in Hoshiarpur. The driver had started the engine of the goods train and got down without applying the hand brake. Meanwhile, the goods train suddenly started running.

 

When the railway officials came to know that the goods train was running without a driver, they tried to stop it at Kathua railway station, but they did not succeed. After some time the goods train gained speed. Within no time the speed of the goods train reached 60/KM per hour.

 

Kathua railway station officials immediately contacted railway officials at Sujanpur railway station in Pathankot, Punjab. An attempt was made to stop the train there also. Stoppers were installed on the railway line. This time also the attempt failed and the goods train crossed the station. After this, attempts were also made to stop the goods train at Pathankot Cantt, Kandrori, Mirthal, Bangla, and Mukerian.

Gradually the speed of the goods train started decreasing. Finally, the goods train stopped with a wooden stopper installed at Uchi Bassi railway station in Hoshiarpur. As per reports, Jammu Railway Division Traffic Manager stated that efforts are being made to find out the reason for the incident. An investigation into the matter has been initiated to identify any possible security lapses to prevent similar incidents in the future. Authorities are taking precautionary measures such as implementing strict safety protocols, regular maintenance checks, and ensuring proper train brake and signaling systems to avoid such incidents.
