The government is all set to provide security to 36 celebrities. According to sources, the government has reviewed the Security of several celebrities. On this basis, the security of many people has been restored again. This step seems to be damage control.

The government is all set to give security to all the celebrities of the state, who have applied for it citing danger to their lives. The police department has not disclosed the names of the artists belonging to the film and music industry this time due to security reasons.

These 36 celebrities belong to Mohali, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Bathinda, Faridkot, Muktsar, Patiala, and Amritsar districts.  As per media reports, the government will now review the security continuously.

Every celebrity will be given 4 to 6 commandos. The Punjab government is preparing to answer the matter of withdrawal of security in the High Court. For this, the government has constituted a special team, in which senior officers of the Advocate General's office have also been included, who, after looking at all the legal aspects, will present the government's side in the High Court.

No minister or MLA reached towards the Punjab government to bid farewell to Sidhu Musewala. According to sources, CM Bhagwant Mann wanted to go to Moosa village as an artist, but the top intelligence officials had advised him not to go there in view of security due to the huge crowd.

More than a thousand police personnel were called from several districts in the village Moosa, but it appeared insufficient. When Moosewala's body was brought to the field there, the mob broke the security cordon of the police and came forward.

Opposition’s Take

“Moosewala's life was lost due to the government's negligence. Neither the government would cut the security, nor would this incident happen. This is the reason why the government feared that if any representative come to Moosewala's funeral, he would have to face huge public outrage. Despite the passage of two days, the police could not arrest the killers of Moosewala. The police have proved to be a failure in this case,” said Amarinder Raja Wadding, Congress State President.

CM has insulted the Punjabi singer and family by not reaching the funeral. It will never be forgotten,” Said Sukhbir Badal, Akali Dal State President.
