This school, which started in 1975 under the trees in Sherpur village of Halka Nakodar, Jalandhar, has now settled in the temple. But still, this school has not got its building from the government side.
Children are being taught sitting down on the ground and LED TV screens are being used instead of computers to teach the same children. We are talking about Sherpur School, village of Halka Nakodar, Jalandhar, where children should be provided with good education and good facilities, the same children are helpless to study. Not only this, the teacher teaching in the school told that they also have to face a lot of trouble while teaching the children, but the administrative officers and representatives of the government, even the education department is aware that the school neither has its roof and Nor is there any building, then education is being provided to the children by making them sit on the same place on the ground and get them educated.
The teacher Sumandeep told that she has been teaching children in the school for 4 years and since 1975 the school is running in Sherpur village, it has been 45 years but till now the school has neither got its building nor the school has any place. Regarding the school, it was talked about many times with the representatives of the government from the administrative officers to the MLA councilor that the land should be provided to the school but nothing like this has happened so far. The same said that the school receives funds, but the same given in the fund is not being used because the school is in a temple and only one room is available to them in which library, children's toys, computer, and cooking items have been kept. Even earlier a teacher and her companion were changed from here, now after many years, they have got another assistant teacher who is teaching the children. Appealed to the government that soon this school should be provided with its building and place so that it can teach the children properly.

The children studying in the school told that education is provided well but they are not provided facilities here and they are taught sitting down. Many times they have to face problems in their studies but they are studying under compulsion. The people of the village said that this school is running like this for many years. The school was started by the village panchayat and the school used to be under the trees and even after so many years, the school could not get its building even today. About the school, the city council of Nakodar was talked about providing space many times, but neither the government informed about it nor the administration officials here did anything for the school. Most of the children of such a society come and study in the school and their parents are forced to teach here. Many times the school also got funds, but due to the dispute between the mutual officials, nothing could happen to the school.
Block master of Nakodar 1 block, Surjit Singh said that in 2004-5, a fund was released to the school, but due to non-availability of space, the fund went back to the education department. He also admitted that the education department has taken information about this school many times but is not able to provide space for the school. Administration officials and government representatives have talked about giving the school a building many times, but they seem to be speaking only in words, not doing anything. Not only this, the place of the school was discussed many times in his own city council Nakodar, but he too could neither provide space nor get the building constructed for the school. Sujit Singh says that children studying in school have to face big problems and their studies also get hampered. But now again, after talking to our department and the MLA there, we will talk about building a building and providing space for the school.
