Group of drunk youths attack ADCP Ashwini Kumar in Jalandhar, detained

The ADCP had reportedly gone for an event with his friends Rohit and Dharampal when a group of over 11 youths attacked them late at night.

The Additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP), Ashwini Kumar was attacked by a group of drunken youths late at night on Sunday. The police arrested six in connection with the incident and have been questioning them.

 

The ADCP had reportedly gone for an event with his friends Rohit and Dharampal when a group of over 11 youths attacked them late at night.


ADCP City- 2, Mr Kumar is the resident of Punjabi Avenue located on Laddevali Road and has been posted on Ramamandi's Laddevali road.


The teams of officers from Ramamandi police station, police station 8 and police Cantt were rushed to the site of attack after receiving information. The ADCP along with his friends were taken to the hospital for treatment.


Mr Kumar has sustained a serious eye injury and his friends are hurt as well. The top police official is being treated in a private hospital.

So far, police have arrested six suspected individuals out of eleven. The reason for the attack remains unknown and an investigation of the case is underway.
