Gudi Padwa The festival of Gudi Padwa is marked by religious scholars in different forms. Like in Maharashtra it is celebrated as the beginning of the new year. 

Whereas in mythology it is celebrated to celebrate the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana, and his coronation after 14 years of exile. It is believed that the universe was created on the day of Gudi Padwa. 

Not only this, the beginning of Satyug is also considered from this day. This is the reason that many people do special worship on this day.

This festival is celebrated with great pomp in Maharashtra. There is a historical story behind this too. Actually, the Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji first celebrated the festival of Gudi Padwa after winning the war. Since then the Marathi community also started celebrating this festival every year.

It is believed that by eating sweet bread i.e. Puran Poli on this day, one gets freedom from skin diseases. People hang Gudi i.e. flag outside their houses to invite Lord Brahma, happiness, happiness, prosperity, wealth, fame and good fortune in their homes.
