Ministry of Education releases new guidelines, schools to reopen from October 15

Guidelines for reopening of schools from October 15 have been released by the Union Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal.

As India is going through Unlock 5.0, and many restrictions have been eased, Schools will reopen from October 15, after being closed down for about seven months. The Ministry of Education on Monday has released guidelines for reopening of schools in a graded manner from October 15 which has to be followed by the school authority. 

The Union Cabinet Minister for Education Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank tweeted the guidelines, informing that states and Union Territories are well prepared. They have formulated their own Standard Operating Procedure for health, hygiene and safety and learning with physical/social distancing.

The schools must follow the guidelines prepared by State/UT Education Departments based on the SOP of DoSEL. The students can attend schools only with the consent of their parents in written form. There will be flexibility in attendance norms. Instead of physically attending the school, a student can opt for online classes.
