Since the new provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act came into existence, several cases of huge challans being imposed in various parts of the country have flooded news.

A Rickshaw driver tried to commit suicide by drinking phenyl after he was challaned of Rs 18,000 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He tried to commit suicide after he failed to pay the penalty amount.

The man, identified as Raju Solanki, has been admitted to a hospital. He is unable to pay the fine due to poor financial conditions. His rickshaw has been confiscated for not paying the penalty amount.

Raju tried committing suicide owing to his financial condition.

According to Raju, "I am unable to go to work as my rickshaw has been confiscated."

He has studied B.Com but had to drive rickshaw when he couldn't find any job for himself.
