Punjabi singer Gurdas Maan is once again embroiled in controversy. The Sikh community is very angry with Gurdas Maan for associating a man with the generation of Guru Amar Das, the third Patshah of Sikhism, at the famous Nakodar fair. After the video of Gurdas Maan's speech went viral, he is being protested on social media.

Now Sikh organizations have announced to register a leaflet at Nakodar police station. The organizations also said that if no action was taken against Gurdas Maan, there would be massive protests across the state.

Gurdas Maan (born 4 January 1957) is an Indian playback singer, songwriter and actor mainly associated with Punjabi and Hindi language music and films. He gained national attention in 1980 with the song "Dil Da Mamla Hai". Since then, he has gone on to record over 34 albums and has written over 305 songs. In 2015 he performed on the song "Ki Banu Dunia Da" with Diljit Dosanjh in MTV Coke studio India that was aired in season 4 episode 5 (16 August 2015) on MTV India.

Earlier Gurdas Maan has been in controversy even before this. Even then, Gurdas Maan was strongly opposed. He had recently made a statement about the Punjabi language which had caused him controversy. In this case, he had responded to a person from the stage in bad language. As a result, he was widely criticized.

He was also not allowed to speak at the farmers’ dharna from the Singhu border stage. Although stage managers were ready to give him time, youngsters in gathering strongly opposed the idea.

While some accuse Maan of speaking late in farmers’ support, this, however, is not the reason behind the anger of those protesting against him. Strange as it may sound, the legendary singer’s detractors accuse him of disrespecting Punjabi language.

Now the latest controversy is Nakodar. Arriving at the famous fair here, Gurdas Maan claimed that the background of Baba's descendants was connected with the generation of Shri Guru Amar Das Ji. Its video is going viral on social media.
