Habibganj to Rani Kamalapati: This redeveloped railway station got World Class amenities; check out pics

Rani Kamlapati railway station, earlier known as Habibganj railway station, is a railway station in Bhopal City and part of the West Central Railway.  It is located in Habibganj, New Bhopal. It is India's first private railway station. On 13 November 2021, Madhya Pradesh Government proposed the station to be renamed after Rani Kamlapati.

 

These include the gauge converted and electrified Ujjain-Fatehabad Chandrawatiganj Broad Gauge section, third line in Bhopal-Barkhera section, gauge converted and electrified Mathela-Nimar Kheri Broad Gauge section and electrified Guna-Gwalior section.

 

The redeveloped station has been renamed after brave and fearless Queen Kamalapati of the Gond kingdom. "At 3 PM tomorrow, 15th November, the redeveloped Rani Kamalapati Railway Station will be dedicated to the nation. Other initiatives relating to the railways sector will also be inaugurated which will benefit the people of Madhya Pradesh," said a tweet from the official Narendra Modi handle.

 

With modern airport-like amenities, Rani Kamalapati Railway Station was redeveloped at a cost of ₹450 crore under Public Private Partnership mode in three years. Touted by the Railways as the first world-class railway station in Madhya Pradesh, Rani Kamlapati Railway Station has been designed as a green building and also takes into account ease of mobility for disabled persons.
