There has been rain and hailstorm in the morning in Ludhiana, Punjab today. It has been raining continuously since 7:30 in the morning. The weather has become cool due to rain. Even at 8 in the morning the sky remained dark due to rain and clouds. This is the second rain of this winter. The cold has increased suddenly due to rain. Due to heavy rain,t here is electricity failure in many areas of the city. People are troubled due to lack of electricity in areas like Janakpuri, Ganesh Nagar, Javaddi, Shivaji Nagar, Pakkhowal Road etc.

 

The hailstorm affected power supply in outer areas of the city and POWERCOM officials found it difficult to rectify the snag even during Saturday. Meanwhile, residents remained hassled in the absence of water supply during Saturday morning as there was no electricity in some localities.

 

Meteorological Department issued orange alert:

This year there was no rain in the city since mid-December but on the first day of February it rained heavily. Orange alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department. People remained hiding in their homes due to rain. By 6:30 in the morning, there was fog in the city and dew was also falling. But after seven o'clock it suddenly rained heavily. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will be cold throughout the day today and there is a possibility of rain and hailstorm.

 

According to agricultural experts, crops will benefit from the rain. Experts also say that the rain will provide much-needed relief to people from fog. Visibility in Ropar, Moga, Jalandhar and Amritsar was also less than 150 meters due to fog. Today the maximum temperature of the metropolis will be 13 degrees and the minimum temperature will be 9 degrees.

 

Due to the active Western Disturbance, the Meteorological Department has predicted rain with strong wind and hailstorm in many districts on Thursday. An orange alert has also been issued regarding this. The wind speed is also expected to be 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.
