Know the haircare brand acquired by India’s Shark Ghazal Alagh, co-founder of Mamaearth

Mamaearth was founded by Varun Alagh and Ghazal Alagh. Their parent company has acquired a haircare brand.

Honasa Consumer Pvt Ltd, the parent company of Mamaearth, recently acquired haircare brand BBLUNT for a whopping amount of Rs 134 Crores. BBLUNT was a subsidiary of Godrej Consumer products ltd.

BBLUNT was founded by Adhuna Bhabani, a British-English hairstylist. Bhabani first launched her salon, Juice, in 1998 in Mumbai along with her brother and business partner, Osh Bhabani. But they subsequently changed the name to BBLUNT.

Adhuna made her debut as a hairstylist in Bollywood with Dil Chahta Hai released in 2001. The film proved to be a major turning point for her business and the hairdressing industry as a whole. Bhabani married actor Farhan Akhtar in 2000, after being in a relationship with him for 3 years. The two parted ways on 24 April 2017.


Digital-first consumer brands platform Honasa which owns personal care brands like Mamaearth has raised $52 million led by Sequoia, becoming the first Indian unicorn of 2022.
