Hans Raj Hans' name missing in first BJP's Lok Sabha list of 195 candidates; Check who made the cut

BJP on Saturday its first list of 195 candidates who will fight Lok Sabha Elections 2024 on its ticket and candidates of 5 out of 7 constituencies of Delhi was also unveiled.

Punjabi singer-turned-politician, Hans Raj Hans on Saturday failed to make it into the first BJP's Lok Sabha candidates list. Hans Raj Hans is currently a BJP MP from North-West Delhi. BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde on Saturday unveiled the list of 195 candidates, and as expected the saffron party emphasized giving opportunities to young leaders. In BJP's first Lok Sabha Elections 2024 candidates list, 34 Union Ministers have got tickets. At the same time, there are 28 women, 27 SC, 18 ST, and 57 OBC names in the list. There are 47 candidates below 50 years of age, whom the party has called youth. Notably, Hans Raj Hans could not make it into the first list of the BJP, however, all is not over for the veteran Punjabi singer. 

 

Candidates have been announced for five out of seven seats in Delhi. Only North East Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari managed to secure the ticket. The party has fielded Bhojpuri superstar and current party MP Manoj Tiwari from North-East Delhi, Kamaljeet Sehrawat from West Delhi, Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri from South Delhi and Praveen Khandelwal from Chandni Chowk. Below is a list of BJP's Delhi candidates for Lok Sabha Polls for 5 constituencies- 

 

  • Chandni Chowk- Praveen Khandelwal
  • North East Delhi- Manoj Tiwari
  • New Delhi- Sushri Bansuri Swaraj (daughter of late Sushma Swaraj)
  • West Delhi- Kamaljeet Sherawat
  • South Delhi- Ramvir Singh Bidhuri

 

After her name's announcement,  BJP leader Kamaljeet Sehrawat was quoted saying, "I did not even expect that, this is a big surprise for me. I have been given this huge responsibility, firstly I would like to thank PM Narendra Modi and BJP national president JP Nadda for giving me this opportunity....The manifesto of the BJP is yet to come. Whatever he promised earlier has already been fulfilled. This time BJP's manifesto will surprise people again.."
