Hardik Pandya Injury Update: BCCI's official statement on what happened to Team India allrounder

Team India on Thursday registered an emphatic victory over Bangladesh by 7 wickets and continued their winning run in the ongoing Cricket World Cup 2023. Courtesy of Virat Kohli's 48th ODI ton and the bowlers' brilliant performance, Team India registered their fourth back-to-back on Thursday. However, Team India suffered a massive blow in the World Cup 2023 campaign when Hardik Pandya left the field after twisting his ankle during his bowling against Bangladesh. Now, BCCI on Friday took to their official X handle and gave Hardik Pandya injury update. BCCI confirmed that Hardik Pandya will be missing the India vs New Zealand World Cup 2023 match in Dharamshala due to his recent injury. Furthermore, BCCI also revealed what happened to Hardik Pandya. 

 

What happened to Hardik Pandya?

 

BCCI in its official release stated, "Team India vice-captain Hardik Pandya sustained an injury to his left ankle while fielding on his own bowling during India’s match against Bangladesh at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune."

 

"The all-rounder was taken for scans and is advised rest. He will be under the constant supervision of the BCCI Medical Team. He will not be taking the flight to Dharamsala with the team on 20th October and will now join the team directly in Lucknow where India play England."  

 

It is pertinent to mention here that India vs New Zeland WC 2023 match is among the most awaited match as the Men In Blue is looking to avenge its 2019 semi final loss against the Black Caps. Furthermore, the Men In Blue have not defeated the Black Caps since 2003 in the ICC Cricket World Cup. Therefore, Hardik Pandya's absence from INDvsNZ WC 2023 match will be a massive blow for Rohit Sharma & Co.
