Addressingthe media after meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh inthe national capital on Tuesday, Congress general secretary in-charge ofPunjab, Harish Rawat said that all the pre-poll promises made by the CaptAmarinder-led-Congress government will be fulfilled soon.

HarishRawat spoke to the media just after Punjab CM left the venue without giving amedia byte. It was also being speculated that all is not well between CongressHigh Command and Capt Amarinder as the latter objected on being called time andagain to Delhi to meet the panel.

Talkingon the Capt Vs Sidhu controversy, Rawat said, “Navjot Sidhu has straightforward put his demand of fulfilling poll promises related to the Bargariincident and drugs”. He said that Sidhu has said once the above two promisesare fulfilled; he’ll stand in support of the state government.

Hefurther said Navjot Sidhu is not behind any post, neither do his statementshint the same, all he has spoken against is about sand mafia, drugs and 2015police firing incident etc, and sought action for the same . He also said there is no personal enmity betweenSidhu and Captain, and they will be together soon.

Besides,Rawat said that all those speaking against the party in public will not bespared as that’s something completely unacceptable. “May be now or in futurebut the party will definitely take action against them”, he said.

Whenasked about the meeting with Capt Amarinder, Rawat said that Captain Amarinderhas assured action in the Bargari case and informed us about the recentencounters related to drugs in the state. Also, he told us how the PunjabGovernment in the recent past has provided free electricity to farmers, freemedical services and among other help to the needy. He also presented the listof the achievements of the Congress government.

Hefurther said to bring down the sand mafia in the state; Capt Amarinder hasplans to decontrol sand mining business in the state and make sand a resourcefree for all.

“Allthe party members have said that they will fight the polls together and theparty is united under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi", hesaid, adding that they have chalked out a list of poll promises that werefulfilled in the last four years and also those left to be fulfilled.

Moreover,when asked if Navjot Sidhu will be called to meet the panel, Rawat said,"Yes he will be called and all the differences would be resolved soon”.
