Hours after the murder of the SAD Councillor Harjinder Singh Bahman, the Punjab Police on Monday morning nabbed all three accused involved in the gruesome crime after a brief encounter. On Sunday, SAD leader Harjinder Singh Bahman (45) was brutally shot dead in Amritsar's Shekhupura village. The attack took place near his home and was allegedly carried out by members of the notorious Krishna gang. As per reports, Harjinder Singh was returning from a nearby shop when three assailants ambushed him, firing multiple rounds. He was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
Following that, the Police addressed the media and said that three accused have been identified, whose names are Karan Keeza, Kishu and Gurpreet Singh Gopi. Their photoes were also released by the Punjab Police.
All three accused nabbed
An encounter broke out between the Police and the attackers at some distance from Fatehpur Central Jail on Jhabal Road. On seeing the police, the accused started firing. Gopi has been injured in retaliation by police bullets, while three others are in police custody. According to the initial information, the police had received information about the accused being near Jhabal Road. After which, the teams of the Cheharta police station reached the spot. But the accused, seeing themselves surrounded, started firing at the police. During this, Gopi was injured in retaliation. He has been shot in the leg. He is being taken to the hospital. While Karan Keedha and Kishu, the other two, have been arrested by the police.
SAD Councillor Harjinder Singh Murder case
Harjinder Singh, an Akali Dal councillor from Jandiala Guru, was shot dead in Cheharta on Sunday afternoon. The entire shooting was captured on CCTV, which aided the investigation. According to police, the motive behind the killing appears to be personal rivalry. Two members of the Krishna gang, identified as Bachittar Singh and Anand, were earlier arrested and provided crucial information about the shooters. The main assailants were identified as Gurpreet, Kishu, and Karan Kidha.
