Has Navjot Singh Sidhu re-joined Punjab Congress?

Now, game will change.

Has Navjot Singh Sidhu re-joined Punjab Congress? | Navjot-Singh-Sidhu,CM-Capt-Amarinder-Singh,Rahul-Gandhi- True Scoop

Navjot Singh Sidhu has finally made his appearance along-side the other party workers on October 4 during the Kisaan Bachao Yatra, a campaign launched by the Punjab government to support the farmers who are protesting against the newly formed farm laws.

Notably, for over 6 months, Sidhu was seen mum and not participating in any of the party meetings which indicated a foul play in the state politics.

But today, Navjot Sidhu has made a re-entry into politics. Congress has re-launched Sidhu under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, who is here to hold three-day tractor rallies with farmers against NDA.

Before the commencement of today's tractor rally, Sidhu was spotted sharing the stage, which was set up for the leaders to address the public meeting, with Rahul Gandhi and CM Capt Amarinder Singh.

Sidhu, however, while addressing the meeting was in full form like he used to be and lashed out at the Centre government for forming the laws against the will of farmers and tainting the federal structure of the country.

He has asked his party's government in Punjab to buy crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP) to provide relief to the farmers. He reiterated the fact that the Himachal Pradesh government is providing the same relief to the state's farmers for the apple produce.

"If Himachal Pradesh can purchase apples why can't we purchase crops, why can't we give them MSP?" Sidhu said.

It may be recalled that Sidhu was upset with CM Capt Amarinder Singh over ministerial rank. He had distanced himself from political activities for a long time after being transferred from the Punjab Cabinet to the post of Local Government Minister. For the past few days, the Congress High Command has been trying to get Sidhu back into Punjab politics.

A few days back, the new Punjab Congress president and former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat had met Sidhu and said he would be back in politics soon.

And today, when Sidhu shared the stage in the presence of Rahul Gandhi and Captain it is thus evident that Sidhu has re-entered Punjab politics. Sidhu, known by his cliche 'Guru', will now lead the farmers' protest and will bluntly attack the Centre govt and its policies.

Interestingly, Punjab Assembly elections are due for 2022. After Capt Amarinder Singh, Sidhu is considered as the second face/leader of the party. It will be now evident to see, who will be nominated as the face of Punjab Congress for the elections, though CM Capt Amarinder had made it clear that the 2022 Assembly elections will be held under his leadership.
