The much-awaited debut web-series of veteran film maker, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is just around the corners, and fans are eagerly awaiting it’s release. The film, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’s trailer was revealed along with it’s release date on March 28, sending the fans into a frenzy. The movie features the lives of the courtesans of the red-light district in Lahore pre-partition. But the question arises, when and where to watch Sanjay Leela Bhansali's new drama, Heeramandi? The web series is set to be released on May 1, on Netflix. Its release date was announced by Bhansali productions on social media where they wrote, “The moment you've been waiting for!! Finally, here is the release date of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's first-ever, epic, glorious series- Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar coming on 1st May, only on Netflix!!”
It features Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Shaikh as the courtesans weaving through British Raj Lahore. The film is based of the real life Heeramandi, which is the oldest and the biggest red-light area in Pakistan. Heeramandi means diamond market in English.
