After the presentation of Budget 2019, it has been very clear that India is on the road to transforming into a global EV manufacturing centre. The Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman declared an additional tax benefit 1.5 Lakh on the interest on loans rendered to purchase the electric vehicles.

The good news doesn’t end with this, even the GST has also slowed down its pressure on the electric vehicles from 12 per cent to 5 per cent. Well, the options are not plenty when it comes to electric cars in India, but soon the new ones are also going to grace the Indian roads.

However, the choices like Tata Tigor EV, Mahindra eVerito and Mahindra e20 Plus are also good for owning an electric vehicle. A few months from now these options will expand to the global brands for which many people are waiting for. The major carmakers are expected to launch their electric models in the country.

Well, it not going to be that easy for the foreign brands to take over the market because the domestic players are all geared up for a fast and furious race. Maruti Suzuki India and Tata Motors are fueling with their new models.

However the foreign carmakers like Hyundai, Morris Garages and Audi are ready to stun the Indian car lovers. India is one of the major car markets in the world and is all set to become an EV hub in the upcoming months 

But let take a look at the foreign brands which will soon run on the Indian roads.

Hyundai Kona 

Hyundai will be launched on July 9 in India and the price will range around 25 lakh. This pretty penny has some pretty features too: The interior comprises a 7-inch digital cluster and 8-inch touch screen, the closed-off front with the sporty looking wheels is surely worth the price.

The driving range is 312 kms in just one charge is a smoking feature of this electric car.

Audi e-tron 

The company will launch its Eclectically-powered SUV e-tron at the end of 2019. It runs on the top speed of 200 kmph and coming to India in Completely Built Up route.

This 5-seater gets a 95 kWh lithium-ion battery and will cost you 1.15 crore. 

MG EZS 

The EZS electrics being the second introduction of MG in India will be launched in December 2019.

The company collaborated with a Finland-based clean energy ‘Fortum’ to start 50 KWDC fast-charging EV stations to nurture its showrooms in Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad in September this year.

Tata Altroz EV
