The decision on the bail of Akali leader Bikram Majithia will come today. He has been lodged in the Patiala Jail since February in the drugs case. The double bench of the High Court will hear this. In connection with the narcotics case, the previous Congress government had detained him.

Following this, he got no relief from the Supreme Court or the Lower Court. Majithia says that the previous Congress government has implicated him in a political rivalry due to the elections.

2 months back, he had filed a petition in the Supreme Court to dismiss the drugs case. But the Supreme Court refused to hear it.  The Supreme Court asked him to place the matter before the Divisional Bench of the High Court.

In the drug case, serious allegations have been made against him. He is accused of giving shelter to Canadian drug smuggler Satpreet Satta. It is said that Satta stayed in Majithia's Amritsar and also in Chandigarh's Government Kothi. Even Majithia had given him the car and the gunman. For the elections, he took funds from drug smugglers. He has also been accused of making settlements between drug smugglers.
