Days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Mohali in Punjab a high alert has been issued in the state. The secret intelligence wing of Pakistan ISI is planning to terrorize Chandigarh and Mohali with explosions.

The Central Intelligence unit has served the Punjab government with input on the possibility of the matter. With PM Modi scheduled to visit Mohali on August 24th, the Punjab Police is up on their toes and has tightened the security keeping the intensity of the situation into their concern.

Punjab Police nabbed 4 terrorists Deepak Moga, Sunny Isapur, Sandeep Singh, and Vipin Jalhad from Delhi a few days back. All four of them were in contact with Canada-based gangster Arsh Dalla and Australia-based Gurjant Janta.

Upon inquiry, the Police found that besides Delhi, Moga, and Mohali are also the target of the terrorists. Police even got input on target killings from the arrested gangsters during further investigation. While addressing the press, Police has termed this to be a Pak-based terror module.

The safety-related concern with regard to PM is even crucial that has sent the Punjab Police on their toes. Earlier this year in January an incident rocked the state of Punjab with controversy when PM’s Ferozepur visit was averted when his convoy was blocked while he was on his way through the Bajakhana-Kotkapura-Faridkot route to Ferozepur from Bathinda.

The incident unfolded at a place where PM was just 30 KM away from the Indo-Pak border and a group of people came at a close range of 150 KM with the PM. Eventually, the PM’s trip was suspended, and had to return back from the Bathinda Airport.

The incident was marked by a big controversy which even led the then CM Charanjit Singh Channi raising concern over the matter as regretful during a national-level COVID meeting chaired by PM Modi.

The list of 10 people has been sent by the Central Intelligence wing to the Punjab government to consolidate their security.
