On the eve of Holi, two Pakistani Hindu minor girls, Raveena (13) and Reena (15), were allegedly kidnapped by a group of "influential" men from their home in Ghotki district in Sindh.

Soon after kidnapping the girls, a video in which a cleric was seen allegedly solemnising the ‘Nikah’ of the two girls, went viral. The video sparked a nationwide outrage. Another video showed the girls accepting that they willingly joined Islam. The Hindu Community in Pakistan has also massive protests demanding strict action against those who are responsible.

A spat started off between External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Pakistan Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry. The war of words started soon after Sushma Swaraj sought details from the Indian envoy in Pakistan regarding the abduction of two Hindu teenage girls.

Sushma Swaraj tweeted asking insight into the matters,“I have asked Indian High Commissioner in Pakistan to send a report on this. @IndiainPakistan..Two Hindu girls abducted on Holi eve in Pakistan's Sindh”

This was enough to make you jittery. This only shows your guilty conscience."
