Slamming former Chief Minister and BJP leader Captain Amarinder Singh, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Sunday said that history is testimony to the fact that the self proclaimed ‘wiseness’ of Patiala scion has ruined the state.
In a statement issued here today, the Chief Minister said that entire Punjab knows that Captain had always been bothered about his chair rather than the state and its people. He said that by confining himself in palaces Captain has totally ignored the interests of the state during his days in power. Bhagwant Mann said that history is a fact that Captain has a lineage of backstabbing Punjab and Punjabis.
The Chief Minister said that no Punjabi can ever forget that forefathers of Captain had sided with Mughals and Britishers for their vested interests adding that they had committed countless atrocities on the patriots fighting for country’s freedom during British regime. He said that toeing the line of his ancestors the former Chief Minister had hobnobbed with Congress and Akalis whenever it suited his political interests. Bhagwant Mann said that again now has decided to join hands with anti-Punjab and anti-farmers BJP despite of the fact the saffron party is responsible for martyrdom of more than 700 farmers during agitation against draconian farm laws.
The Chief Minister said that ‘power hungry’ Captain had switched sides only for sake of power which is quite similar to what his ancestors did during the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919 by siding with Britishers. He said that Captain has already got punishment for his treachery against farmers and Punjabis as people has ousted him from political arena of state. Bhagwant Mann categorically said that now in political oblivion, as deposits of all his candidates has been confiscated in 2022 polls, Captain is issuing baseless and misleading statements in state, which cannot be tolerated.
