Wife of Punjabisinger and actor Yo Yo Honey Singh has filed a domestic violence case againsthim and sought Rs 10 crore compensation under the Protection of Women fromDomestic Violence Act, saying she felt like a "farm animal...Being treatedcruelly".
She filed a plea atDelhi's Tis Hazari Court on Wednesday, accusing him of domestic violence, amongother things. Shalini's 120-page petition details her multiple allegationsagainst the rapper.
Recalling aparticular incident, Shalini said that when photos from their wedding ceremonywere leaked, Hirdesh (real name of Honey Singh) got panicked and best hermercilessly as he thought that she leaked the images while he actually wantedto hide his marital status.
Shalini also accusedher husband of being sexually involved with multiple women. In a particularcase, when Shalini confronted Hirdesh about adultery with his 'Brown Rang' costar, the popstar apparently threw a bottle of liquor at her. Hirdesh andShalini were childhood sweethearts. They were in a decade long relationshipbefore finally getitng married in 2011.
Besides this, shealso claimed that once her father-in-law walked into her room in inebriatedcondition while she was changing her clothes and grazed his hands over herchest.
The court has issuednotice to Honey Singh to respond by August 28. The court also passed aninterim order in favor of Shalini Talwar, restraining Honey Singh fromdisposing of the property jointly owned by his wife. Advocates SandeepKapoor, Apoorva Pandey and GG Kashyap filed the case on behalf of Honey Singh'swife Shalini Talwar.
She has demanded Rs10 crore as compensation and also prayed the court to order the singer to pay arent of Rs 5 lakh every month for fully furnished accommodation in Delhi so asto enable her to live by herself and not remain dependent on her widowedmother.
