Honey’s diary discloses name of the owner of Educational institution, ED may summon

The owner of the Educational institution is said to be one of the Channi's close associates.

New pieces of evidence are coming to light in the illegal sand mining case. As per reports, ED has confirmed proofs against Bhupinder Singh Honey. Apart from Honey, the name of the owner of an educational institution has been revealed in this matter.

Enforcement Directorate (ED) has tightened the noose against Channi’s nephew. While searching his documents, they found a diary which Honey used to keep with himself. The diary includes the names of Channi’s close associates. One such name of an owner of education institutions has been revealed in this matter. He is one of the main persons of Channi.

 He is also the middleman of Channi and a transaction of 1 crore plus has also been found by ED in Honey’s diary.

According to reports, it was found that Rs 10 Crores have been kept in two of his colleges for the election campaign.

Apart from him, names of some other officials who held office in Channi’s government have been found in the diary. Now, ED has tightened its noose on Channi’s close officials including all IAS, IPS, ECS and EPS. ED can summon those officials for further inquiry. As per sources, ED might call these officials or Channi before PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab on February 14.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on January 18, just weeks before assembly elections, carried out raids at ten different locations belonging to Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi's nephew Bhupinder Singh Honey, in connection with a Prevention of Money Laundering case pertaining to illegal sand mining in Punjab.

A Special Court in Jalandhar on Tuesday extended the ED custody of Bhupinder Singh Honey in a money laundering case, till February 11.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) told the court that Honey was required to be questioned more.


Punjab CM's nephew Bhupinder Singh Honey earned Rs 325 crores through money laundering by using his name. Honey was arrested on February 4 with regards to an illegal sand mining case.
